Composition: Found Sound

An exploratory, auditory experience for curious ears. Led by knowledgeable musicians and composers, Composition: Found Sound students work collaboratively to discover, record, and evaluate the sounds of their environment, and turn what they hear into unique, auditory compositions.

Equipped with various recording devices and the freedom to explore 140-acres of natural beauty abuzz with artistic energy, students in this Minor learn to identify the myriad sounds that surround them, discover which sounds speak directly to their hearts, and turn their recordings into compositions that capture their individual, sonic personalities.

At the end of the course, all students share their work and receive a recording of their composition.

Pre-requisites: No prior experience necessary. Classes are grouped according to age division and grade.
