$55 for 55 Years of Usdan

2023 marks Usdan's 55th anniversary year, and now more than ever, we are committed to providing access to the arts, a safe space for creative expression, and a source of hope and positivity. As many of you know, Usdan is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, founded in 1968, with a mission to invite people of all ages to experience the natural beauty of our campus and the transformative power of the arts.  With so many difficult things happening in the world, we believe the arts are more important than ever, especially for young people.

Join us in commemorating our 55th anniversary by donating $55 now through December 31, 2023 and help ensure that the next generation of artists can experience the joy of Usdan for another 55+ years.

Thanks to generous donor and 2023 Usdan Community Award recipient Jeff Schoenfeld, you can now DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT! All donations will be matched dollar for dollar up to $55,000 through December 31, 2023.

Your donation helps provide access to arts education in a welcoming environment where young artists of different ages, religions, and geographic backgrounds find each other and share their love of creating.

  • $55 can provide art supplies for two students for the summer (ie: canvases, paintbrushes, drawing materials, clay for ceramics, various metals for jewelry making)
  • $155 can supply playbills for all theater performances for the summer
  • $255 can cover tuition assistance application fees for four families

Then and Now

From the Anniversary Archive, enjoy this then (1968) and now (2018) film from Usdan’s 50th Anniversary in the summer of 2018.

Located in a forested 140-acre oasis, Usdan opens up a world for children to joyfully express their creativity and develop their artistic skills in theater, music, visual arts, dance, and more.

1968

Usdan kicked off its inaugural season with 1,100 campers, a distinguished faculty, and an architecturally iconic campus. It was the culmination of Andrew McKinley’s vision, made possible through the support of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies (now UJA-Federation New York), as well as Samuel Lemberg, who donated the land on which Usdan sits.

2023

Usdan welcomed 1550+ students from throughout Nassau & Suffolk County, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. Over half of our students received partial or full scholarships to help cover the costs of tuition.

“Usdan has been one of the most beautiful parts of our lives for 6 years now, and I really wanted you to know how important this camp has been for my whole family...thank you for making such a marvelous place.” -2023 Usdan Parent
