What's New With U? Week 5

Students adoring bubbles as they walk into Usdan's campus

We are still beaming from the all of the joy and creative risk-taking we saw this week.

We jumped into the week by welcoming our 4-Week B Classic and Week 5 Recreational Camp friends. Students flowed off the buses and out of their cars, grabbed a campus map at the Welcome Table, waved "hello" to old and new friends, and thus began or continued their journey at Usdan for the summer.

Mid-week, our hearts bloomed when our Sunflower Scholars, whom we welcome this summer from Ukraine, received a special visit from UJA-Federation of New York CEO Eric Goldstein. The visit and their stories were featured in two thoughtful news pieces this week.

At Festival and in the studios, our students were reminded why we are honoring water as our first ever Summer 2022 theme:

Clean water is integral to human life. The human body is about 60% water. When we take care of the water, we are taking care of ourselves.

Water demonstrates the interconnectedness of our world. As water runs from land to the ocean to the air and back again, it flows through our entire world and our whole existence. It is essential and we must take care of it.

As we reflect on water this weekend and throughout the summer, we hope you will watch the video below including bits and pieces from "Bodies of Water", the World Premiere music and dance piece at the pools that was part of last week's Community Day & Fundraiser.

See U next week!
