What's New With U? Week 4

We are already feeling nostalgic about these past four weeks.

At Festival on Friday, we reflected on the who, what, where, when, and why of our time together at Usdan:

Who

We are a community of diverse individuals of many different cultural and geographic backgrounds. We are writers, visual artists, dancers, actors, musicians, naturalists, and chess players.

What

We have taken risks, we’ve experimented, and we’ve gone deep into our creativity and expression.

Where

We are lucky to have spent these last four weeks on 140 acres of raw wilderness, which we’ve inhabited with plants and wildlife. We’ve paid special attention to water and our impact on it.

When

Some of us have been at Usdan for 5 days, and others have been here for 19 days, though it’s felt like much longer. Some of us celebrated our “Lifer” year this summer after spending eight years or more on campus. There are even members of this community who have been part of it for over 50 years.

Why

Our community is trying to make the world more just and more beautiful. We hope students are able to take the experiences they've had at Usdan so far this summer and bring them back into their own communities to spread more beauty and more justice in the world.
