2021 GALA HONOREES

Community Award:
Dr. Peter Archer

Dr. Peter Archer, Pixar’s inspiration for music teacher Joe Gardner in the Oscar-winning film “Soul,” dedicated his career to inspiring students to find their own sparks. Archer is the former Instrumental Music Director at Nathaniel Hawthorne Middle School #74 in Bayside for 34 years. Dozens of his students, as well as his son, attended Usdan over the years.

Alumni Award:
Kerry Gillick-Goldberg

As the Director of Communications & Development for the Wyandanch Plaza Association, Kerry Gillick-Goldberg has been instrumental in forging a strong relationship between the Wyandanch School District’s music department and Usdan. Gillick-Goldberg is a community advocate and the owner of KGG Enterprises, LLC, a public relations and marketing firm specializing in promoting socially responsible companies. In addition, she founded Baby Essentials of Long Island to organize volunteers to donate baby essentials to families in need.
