Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
Dear Usdan Community,
After returning home to New York City this fall, I was so hungry for culture that I found myself visiting museums eight times in two weeks. Over the summer, we put a radio in the bathroom and set it to WQXR so that we could listen to classical music while brushing our teeth. When doing the dishes, I remind myself to also dance. At the end of a busy workday, I pop into a Usdan Online class on zoom for inspiration (see highlights below).
The title of this week's musing refers to a lyric in David Bowie’s song "Changes". How we experience art and art education has changed.
I used to go to museums about once a month, rarely listened to classical music at home, never danced, and had to wait until summer to become inspired by the creativity of Usdan students. These new versions of art experiences no longer feel short-term, but here to stay for quite a while longer. Embracing the benefits of artistic ch-ch-ch-ch-changes is helping me to feel less loss.
How about you? Do you have any ch-ch-ch-ch-changed art habits?
