I want to take this moment to reassure you that providing happiness and creativity to youth is the purpose of Usdan. The point of investing in, and sacrificing for, children’s joy and artistry is not just to help children feel good now, it is to help our whole society feel good in the future. The more pleasure our children experience growing up, and the more creativity they develop, the better a very uncertain future will be for all of us.

A yoga teacher used to say something I never understood until now: we are all connected, and what connects us all is the air that we share. Covid proves it. Good choices will help you, and the great thing about helping yourself is the bonus feature of simultaneously helping others.

Before the pandemic, we were already living in an age of distraction. Yet, we could still enter a theater, watch the lights go down, and commit ourselves for several hours to one work of art.
Now, arts organizations have thankfully pivoted to creating compelling artistic productions through digital means. Yet, we experience those performances outside the space of the theater and inside a space of distraction.
