FAQ

Is The RISE a Usdan Program?

The RISE is a Usdan Partners Program. The Partners Program offers the community access to Usdan's pristine woodland campus and facilities, by offering cultural and nature-based fairs for the general public in every season. The Partners Program supports scholarships to Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts.

How long is the experience?

The RISE at Usdan is a self guided tour and guests move at their own pace. Most people spend anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes on the trail.

What is the terrain at Usdan like?

The RISE trail at Usdan is nearly 1 mile with some hills. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.

Where can I park?

Parking is available on-site for passenger vehicles only. Buses are not permitted so please plan accordingly if you are attending with a large group.

Will there be traffic?

The RISE has been on Long Island since 2012. Previously as Old Westbury Gardens, traffic issues were solved by controlling the visitor count per hour, doubling parking staff, and not stopping cars as they came in. Traffic has not been a problem since.

If they do see a backup on the road, they will get to the bottom of what's causing it and will take countermeasures to prevent it from happening again. They want a frictionless experience for visitors and getting them from site entry to parking space without traffic is an important part of The RISE experience.

Is it going to be crowded?

Our campus offers 140 acres of space resulting in less than half the nightly visitor count and allowing for a more intimate trail experience for your family.

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is strictly prohibited anywhere on the Usdan grounds, including our parking lots.
