What's New With U? Week 7

Student sitting in the woods painting and listening to music.

Words fail to describe the beauty and camaraderie we experienced on campus this week. Our time together can perhaps be summarized with lines from the song "Putting It Together" by the great Stephen Sondheim, featured in this week's performance of Bit by Bit: A Sondheim Revue.

"Bit by bit, putting it together, piece by piece. Only way to make a work of art ... Every moment makes a contribution, every little detail plays a part ... The art of making art is putting it together, bit by bit."

Bit by bit, Usdan performing arts students took the stage. We cheered for our Theater students who had performances at the Lucy Moses Theater and during Festival. We tapped our feet and bobbed our heads to the breathtaking music played in the Amphitheater by our Music students.

Bit by bit, Usdan students welcomed us into their studios to share their creative processes and exhibit their final artistic products. We connected with the flora and fauna surrounding us at Nature Open Studios. We celebrated challenge, game, and healthy competition at Chess Open Studios. We were blown away by detail, humor, and professionalism at Usdan Comic Con.

We are grateful for every moment and every bit we get to experience Usdan.

For those who will return next week, let's make the most of our last five days together on this beautiful 140-acre campus in the woods, surrounded by friends who share our enthusiasm for the arts and for nature.

We hope to see many of your friendly faces on campus next week as we welcome audience members for more Theater Shows, Student Festival Performances, and In-Studio Performances and Open Studios.

What will we put together next week? Only time will tell!

See U next week!
