This week, we were reminded that Usdan is one community united. Though we are divided into separate cohorts this summer, from the Archery range at one corner of campus to the Music Department at the other, we are all lucky enough to share this idyllic natural campus from the time we are dropped off to when we say “see you tomorrow” and take our last bite of ice cream.

In addition to the ground we stand on, we are also brought together by the special events and traditions we hold dear. Year after year, we organize these events to celebrate our collectiveness and the importance of gathering here to create every summer. They include:

• Ice cream at the end of every day
• Yearly patches that feature our “U” of the year
• Festival Performances by guest and student artists
• New “U” design submissions for the following season
• Spirit days that invite students to express their creativity through fashion
• Opening ceremony to start the session and closing ceremony to end it, including the ringing of the gong
• The Art Parade featuring our Art and Nature Majors
• A celebration of our students who have been with us for 5 or more years 
• A celebration of our Lifer students who have been attending camp for 8 or more years and staff who have been with us for 10 or more
• Honoring our 12th grade graduates
• And more!

Next week, our final week of the season, let’s celebrate one another and cherish these final days together in the woods.

Usdan's photographer travels around the campus daily attempting to capture every studio. In addition to photos shared in our Newsletter and on Instagram, you can view photos in Flickr and print photos directly as a keepsake for your child.
