What's New With U? Week 3

Painting

Student performances started this week as we near the end of the Usdan’s first summer session. The students have been working so hard to prepare, and their performances wowed the parents, teachers, staff and peers in the audience. We were treated to Festival performances by Creative Writing students, Artists in Residence - The Knights, Senior Orchestra, Band III, Band IV and Senior Jazz Major. Theater performances also started shows this week, presenting Showtune: A Jerry Herman Revue, , Rainbow Fish by Children’s Theater, CATS, and in-studio performance – The Actor Sings. It was such an amazing week at Usdan, we can't wait to see all of the shows, Festival performances, and open studios in week 4!

5 Year Celebration

4A students that have been returning to Usdan for at least five years were treated to a special lunch on Tuesday to celebrate their anniversary! We love that so many of our students and their families choose to spend their summers with us year after year!

The 5 Year Celebration lunch for 8 Week and 4B students will be held on August 1st.

THE DAY LONG FORMAT OF EXPERIENTIAL EVENTS LETS YOU ENGAGE WITH THE ART AND BEAUTY OF THE USDAN CAMPUS THE WAY THE STUDENTS DO: IMMERSIVELY. COME FOR SOME, OR STAY FOR ALL!

*It is very important to us that The U Benefit is accessible to our entire community. While you are always welcome to pay what you wish, we hope you will give as meaningfully as you can. We recommend giving $100 per person. The balance of donations above $65/person (the true cost of attending) is tax deductible. Please note: There is no minimum amount you must pay to attend. This event is open to everyone in the Usdan community regardless of ability to pay.

JOIN THE SUMMER VOLUNTEER ENSEMBLE

We are in search of volunteers from our Usdan community to help on campus this summer!

We especially need your help on our U Benefit days: Wednesday, July 19 & Wednesday, August 16.

We are looking for a large group of people to ensure that these days run as smoothly as possible. Please volunteer one or both days. The Usdan community thrives on the assistance our volunteer ensemble provides. Volunteers will also get to experience and enjoy all that will be occurring on campus on this exciting day. For more information and to be placed on the volunteer list for the U Benefit, please email Sofia Notar-Francesco at snotarfrancesco@usdan.org.

EXTEND YOUR CHILD'S TIME AT USDAN

As we enter into the week 4, we want to remind you that there are still a few spots left to extend your student's experience at Usdan. For a limited time families who extend their child's summer from a 4-week session can do so with a special discount. Contact Enrollment for more information.

Calendar Highlights: Week 4

Here is what's coming up next week!

When visiting campus you are invited to have lunch with members of Usdan's leadership team. On every performance or exhibition day, we host lunches for Usdan parents, supporters, grandparents and caregivers. Lunches are held backstage in the McKinley Amphitheater, typically at 1:15pm. Lunch times are set so as not to conflict with the activities you are coming to see.

If you would like to join us for lunch, email rsvp@usdan.org.
