Abby Z wins Bessie Award

Last week, talented choreographer Abby Zbikowski took the stage at Usdan to perform a piece of her innovative and thought-provoking contemporary work.  And, next week, she will be honored for her innovative work in the field with a 2017 Juried Bessie Awards –the Oscars of the NY Dance and Performance Awards.

Zbikowski is being recognized for using her unique and utterly authentic movement vocabulary in complex and demanding structures to create works of great energy, intensity, surprise, and danger.

Presented by The NY Dance and Performance Awards, “The Bessies” have saluted outstanding and groundbreaking creative work in the dance field in New York City for 33 years. They recognize outstanding work in choreography, performance, music composition, and visual design.

We congratulate Abby on this incredible accolade – and thank her again for participating in this Season’s Guest Artists program.
