Andrew Copper on the BSO Podcast

Andrew Copper performing

“Every time you play the horn, you have to be brave…and willing to accept mistakes.  (It’s) a metaphor for a lot of things…” – Andrew Copper

In December, our very own Andrew Copper, principal French horn player at Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra and associate executive director of Usdan, chatted with another member of the Usdan family, Kate Stocker – a camp staffer who is also the president of BSO.

Andrew, who started playing the French horn at age 9, talks about the challenges and thrills of playing his instrument of choice, and his love of “long pursuits.” He also talks a bit about the utopia that is Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts.

The whole podcast is interesting – but Andrew comes in around the 16 minute mark: (Listen to Podcast)
